The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency submitted comments to the Department of State commending the Department for recognizing the benefits of combined heat and power in its Sixth Climate Action Report. As the report recognizes, CHP and waste heat to power can dramatically lower greenhouse gas emissions, while simultaneously creating jobs and increasing manufacturing competitiveness. The Alliance asked the Department to modify the report to highlight several additional initiatives that the government has taken to increase deployment of these technologies, including issuing a CHP Executive Order, urging consideration of CHP in post Hurricane Sandy rebuilding efforts, and launching an interagency technical assistance program.
