The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency signed on to a statement today urging Congress to extend the Production Tax Credit (PTC) and Investment Tax Credit (ITC) as part of tax reform. Joining nine renewable energy trade organizations on behalf of thousands of member companies and more than half a million Americans working in the renewable energy industry, the statement to the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy states that “well-crafted tax incentives have played, and should continue to play, a vital role in developing new domestic energy resources, contributing significantly to America’s long term economic prosperity and growth.” Growth in new domestic power generation from renewable energy sources has been driven primarily by the PTC and ITC, “spurring private sector investment, creating jobs, and driving down costs significantly, making renewable and clean technologies more cost competitive.”`
